Born and raised in Asheville, Sarah is 2003 graduate of Enka High School. She went on to pursue a music degree at Mars Hill College. As a Piano major and Flute minor, Sarah served as the primary accompanist for the Chamber Singers, an elite group of vocalists chosen from the College Choir to perform special on and off-campus events. She also served as the principal flautist for both the MHC Wind Symphony and the MHC Theatre Department. In 2004, she was one of the few students chosen to perform with the US Army Field Band during their concert at college. While attending Mars Hill, Sarah was chapter president of the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference. She also served as the Drum Major and Color Guard Instructor.

Sarah is now the Color Guard Instructor for Enka High School. She is also the accompanist for the North Buncombe Middle School and Madison High School Choral Programs. She is the flute instructor for Eblen Intermediate School, McDowell High School, and Owen Middle School. In 2012, she founded Hope in Harmony, a local concert series to help raise money for breast cancer research through the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.

Sarah is a member of MENC, ACDA, the Asheville Community Band, and the Asheville Community Show Choir also known as Vocal Blast!. She currently resides in West Asheville with her hound dog, Layla.
